Alexandre Tharaud – Le temps dérobé
Saturday 7th November @ 7:00 pm. Metropolis I
Director: Raphaëlle Aellig Régnier
Alexandre Tharaud is both a classical pianist and pioneer of new musical horizons. The general public discovered him thanks to the Rameau Harpsichord Suites in 2001, an album in which he bucked general conventions by playing not the harpsichord but the piano. He has emerged today as a master of both the baroque harpsichord, the piano as well as of romantic French music. He surprises and attracts by his sensitivity, his insatiable desire to play and his refusal to have a career instilled with routine and the mundane. Today, he gives concerts around the world according to his heart’s desire: Chabrier, Ravel, Couperin, Satie, Chopin, Scarlatti, Bach. He travels with insolent and unbound freedom. This creative documentary is a reflection of his originality, his avid taste for music and the direction that Alexander lives every moment so brightly.
